BRASSERIE BLANC BRISTOL

Brasserie Blanc Bristol located within Quakers Friars, a grade-one listed building and scheduled ancient monument constructed in 1747. Notable features include a double-height space defined by 12 giant Doric columns, a balcony at first floor level and a large central roof lantern. The restaurant conversion was handled very sensitively in light of the building’s historical importance. A generous symmetrical staircase provides access to the balcony and kitchens. This replaces a number of tiny impractical staircases that only one person could use at a time. The works were undertaken by some of the best builders and craftsmen in the country, and the knowledge they imparted was priceless.
