Set within a listed building in the popular Montpelier area, Giggling Squid Cheltenham unusually features two shop frontages: one on Montpellier Street and the other on Montpellier Walk. A key move was to relocate the customer toilets from the basement to the second floor so that the existing kitchen could be enlarged to the appropriate size for a Giggling Squid restaurant. During the works, it was found that the pavement lights were being supported upon heavily corroded steelwork. Structural repairs were therefore undertaken to stabilise the situation.
