Giggling Squid Chichester is located on a prominent corner site in the St Pancras area, just a short walk from the city centre. Constructed in 1938, the building had previously been used as a pub, theatre and newspaper premises. Most recently, it had been partially transformed into a local supermarket, before the tenant pulled out leaving a semi-converted shell. Giggling Squid stepped in and finished the shell works, before commencing the restaurant fit-out. Among the challenges was installing an acoustic ceiling to shield the residential apartments on the upper floors. A prominent bar area has been introduced to the front of the premises, aiding flow to the more intimate dining spaces.
