Giggling Squid Kingston is located on the corner of The High Street and Kingston Hall Road. The development, which comprises three converted and conjoined Victorian properties, had formerly been occupied by a restaurant. However, the ground-floor was compromised by an entrance lobby to offices on the first floor, and a number of existing chimney structures. A pinch-point on the C-shaped plan was removed by introducing new structural support for the chimneys above. This, combined with a comprehensive reworking of the interior, has resulted in a functional yet attractive restaurant design.
