Giggling Squid Leicester occupies an interesting building with two frontages: one on St Martins Square and the other on Cank Street. The St Martins Square side had been functioning as the primary elevation, however proposed pedestrianisation works are likely to make the Cank Street elevation more prominent. This was taken into account during design and planning procees. By placing the kitchen and basement on the first floor and basement respectively, PNW Studios was able to create a largely open-plan ground-floor dining space that flows easily between the two elevations. Additional first-floor customer space is linked to the ground floor via a central atrium behind the St Martins Square entrance. Café-style doors on the St Martins Square shopfront enable customers to more easily frequent the pavement dining area.
