THE CRICKETERS

Located on Downside Common near Cobham in Surrey, The Cricketers is a quintessential country pub. Set beside the village cricket green, this white-painted building stands out against a backdrop of trees, and features low exposed-beams inside, as well as roaring fires in the winter.

 

When the White Brasserie Co took the pub on it had become rather tired and dilapidated. The main problem was that the tiny kitchen could not produce the food required to entice today’s discerning customers. PNW Studios designed a generous new kitchen extension, which is located at the rear and visually screened by the trees. We also sensitively refreshed the interior, retaining elements that worked and replacing those that had become broken or dated. French doors were added to the front elevation, improving access to the outside where customers can sit and enjoy the green.
